Lacey Timoti, LSW, ASOP

Therapist

I am an individual therapist with experiences working in a variety of social work contexts including child welfare and community mental health. I graduated from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a master's degree in social work and concentration in clinical mental health. I am currently working toward my clinical licensure hours.

I enjoy empowering people to learn about and manage their mental health, explore and learn from their weaknesses, and discover and expand their strengths. I believe it is valuable to view life's many challenges as opportunities to help people navigate their healthy and unhealthy coping and defense mechanisms. I aim to take a client-centered approach with each session, utilizing evidence-based techniques to support people in meeting their goals.

I have experience working with people through grief and loss, anxiety, depression and mood disorders, trauma responses, attachment/relationship struggles, and emotional dysregulation. Additionally, I find value in working with people from various struggles, backgrounds, ages (18+), genders, and cultures, recognizing the importance of continually learning from one another and acknowledging biases to better support the uniqueness of each individual.
